This is very much the opposite of a plan. It’s about trying new things, being spontaneous, and having fun. I’m obsessed with the experience. There are few activities left where you get to put your phone away and share a unique experience with strangers. I also love the mindfulness aspect. There’s something therapeutic about focusing so hard on moving in a certain way that you can’t think about anything else.
My name is Connie and I’m based in Portland, Oregon. My whole fitness outlook changed in 2013 when I took my barre3 class. It was the first workout I legitimately thought was fun. Before that, I would walk into the gym, look around, get intimidated, and just go on the treadmill. Not only was it zero fun, but it was also felt unproductive. Fitness seemed like a chore that I had to talk myself up to do.
After doing barre3 for a couple years, I started to branch out to other fitness classes, and the rest is history. I love the structure, the energy, and the people. I’m down to try anything and everything. Give me a shout if you have any questions or want to go to a class together! And yes, the name of this blog is an homage to Kanye (pre-TMZ interview).
